Which information will be registered?
The UBO register will be set-up as a public and a restricted section. The public section is accessible to everyone and the restricted section is only accessible to designated public authorities.
The data of each UBO which will be included in the public section - and accessible for everybody - are:
- Name
- Month & year of birth
- Nationality
- Country of residence
- Nature and extent of the economic interest held by the UBO. Due to the privacy of the UBO, the exact percentage is not recorded, but included as bandwidths of 25-50, 50-75 and 75-100 percent.
Although the public section is accessible for everybody, a small fee should be paid for the information requested. To that extent the UBO register is comparable with the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce where data of companies can be requested.
The restricted section of the UBO register, which is only open to designated public authorities, includes the following additional information:
- Citizen service or tax identification number
- Date of birth
- Birthplace
- Country of birth
- Residential address
- Documentation substantiating the nature and extent of the interest held by UBO.
